Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Join our team as a Research Technician, Brown Lab. We're looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Technician to contribute to our ground breaking research in immune regulation. The successful candidate will assist in the investigation of mechanisms of immune tolerance. Our research spans diverse topics including host-microbiota interactions, autoimmunity, cancer and early life immune development.  Recent work from the lab defined the cell types and mechanisms that instruct peripheral regulatory T cell development and tolerance to the gut microbiota. The Brown Lab is a highly collaborative and supportive environment, committed to training a diverse group of scientists!

Role Overview:

Conduct experiments including in vivo mouse models and ex vivo immune phenotyping using high dimensional flow cytometry, Preparation of samples for single-cell genomics datasets (scRNA/ATAC-seq).Perform molecular biology experiments such as genome editing/mouse geneticsBacterial culturesMouse colony managementMaintain laboratory records and protocols, including keeping an electronic laboratory notebook.Communicate effectively with team members and provide clear and concise reports and summaries of experimental results.

Key Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field.Knowledge of the field of immunology and experience in molecular biology techniques.Experience with in vivo mouse models and high dimensional flow cytometry is desirable.

As a Parker Senior Fellow, Dr. Brown is also supported by the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy.
