The Research Technician will help organize and maintain a research laboratory and participate in research studies focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms regulating adipose tissue remodeling and fibrosis using genetic, molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemical procedures. Research includes mammalian cell culture, transfection and gene transfer in cultured cells, DNA and RNA preparation, microscopy, protein isolation and analysis, and the study of mouse models of adipose tissue remodeling. The research technician will assist with technical aspects of experiments under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) or other researchers in the group. The research technician will further be expected to prepare and maintain research and laboratory materials; makes observations; and assists with data analysis of experiments. This position is grant funded.
