Compensation Range

The base pay scale for this position is $22.53 - $34.27. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

What you will be doing

JOB DESCRIPTION

Department/Service: Research Institute/Salmon Lab

Job Start Date: mid-March 2025

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Demonstrate attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Technical expertise and mouse handling, and ability to work independently.

Capable of meeting time demands necessary to execute experiments.

Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory work, experiments, and database.

Ensure that work areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, effective, and efficient environment.

Assist in the management and operations such as managing inventory, streamlining experimental protocols, and training and supervision of junior level research technicians, summer students and research interns/trainees.

Collaborate with and provide support to other lab personnel including entry level research technicians, graduate students, and postdocs to complete science-based projects.

Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Completion of all trainings related to work in a timely manner, including C14, animal usage, handling hazardous material, laboratory safety.

Participate in establishing job requirements and goals; perform duties at the level expected for senior research technician.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree, biology, chemistry, or other relevant biomedical area

Experience:

Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in a microbiology or cell biology laboratory

Expert level experience with research methodology, statistics, manuscript preparation

Prior work with mouse models, including mouse breeding, handling and maintenance

Multicolor flow cytometry and sorting

Analysis using ELISAs, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry

Skills required:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong customer service orientation.

Expert knowledge and use of computers, software, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).


Skills preferred:

Knowledge of Rheumatologic terminology is a plus.
