Research Technician I
Research Technician I **Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):** High School diploma/G.E.D. (foreign equivalent or higher). Technical knowledge as evidenced by coursework in Molecular Biology. **Preferred Qualifications:** Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) with a concentration in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related fields. Experience with handling and caring for plants. Experience with basic molecular biology techniques. **Brief Description of Duties:** The Research Technician I position in Dr. Vitaly Citovsky’s lab in the Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology will learn from and assist the Principal Investigator with research tasks aimed at understanding interactions of plants and plant cells with Agrobacterium and plant viruses, performing plant genetic transformations. The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills and exercise strong organizational skills with strong attention to detail. The incumbent must possess experience following specific instructions. Essential for this role is the ability to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem-solving. + Assist PI with projects in plant maintenance, genetic engineering, and gene cloning. + Assist PI with ordering supplies to keep the lab inventory well stocked. + Other duties as assigned. **Special Notes** : The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation.
