**Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):**
Associate's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). In lieu of an Associate’s degree, two (2) years formal training in subject matter directly related to the project or program may be considered. Technical knowledge as evidenced by coursework in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology. Two (2) years of full-time experience directly related to the project or program and familiarity with genetics and biochemistry laboratory procedures.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) with a concentration in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related field. Experience with lab maintenance. Experience with molecular cloning. Experience with fluorescence microscopy. Experience with yeast genetics. Experience with gradient fractionation.
**Brief Description of Duties:**
This is a Research Tech II position in Dr. Aaron Neiman’s lab in the Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for maintaining laboratory reagents, glassware, and media. In addition, they will assist the Principal Investigator with research tasks aimed at understanding the process of spore wall assembly in yeast. The candidate is expected to have strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work both and as part of a team in a collaborative environment. The candidate should have strong organizational skills and experience in maintaining data and record keeping.
+ Assist with laboratory research projects.
+ Maintain laboratory media and chemical stocks.
+ Clean and sterilize glassware.
+ Participate in weekly laboratory meetings.
+ Assist with the maintenance of laboratory records.
+ Other duties as assigned.
