A caregiver in this position works Days, 8:00am—4:30pm.  


A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Perform laboratory techniques and procedures required for experimental studies.  

Perform technical lab duties.  

Schedule and perform various analyses.  

Assist with establishing and scheduling various procedures and analyses.  

Prepare reagents, purify chemicals, and identify, separate and quantify various substances. 

Conduct testing and procedures utilizing laboratory equipment and instrumentation. 

Accumulate data from analyses.  

Prepare charts, graphs, statistical tables, publications, grant proposals and applications for research forms.  

Work with animals; animal handling & techniques, daily maintenance of colonies, genotyping, weaning, breeding, inventory.


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

High school diploma or GED.  

2 years of experience in a research or related laboratory environment OR an associate’s degree in a laboratory science field and 1 year of work experience OR a bachelor’s degree. 

Experience handling animals, cell culture, processing of animal & human blood and tissue,

Organization and good lab documentation skills
