Laboratory-based research and patient-oriented clinical studies have international stature and often involve extensive collaborations with academic and industry partners regionally nationally and globally. There are educational experiences at secondary school undergraduate graduate and post-graduate levels. Administrative functions ensure that there is safe ethical and responsible conduct of research and facilitate research management and interfaces with other units in the Hospital and Institute. Opportunities exist to become part of this unique and dynamic enterprise.JOIN US NOW as we are seeking a RESEARCH TECHNICIAN to perform complex and novel procedures as a laboratory professional with a great degree of independence under the general supervision of a Principal Investigator (PI). Uses proven or develops as needed new scientific method(s) for new and routine experiments. Provides guidance to all personnel working in the laboratory. Maintains expertise on all matters concerning assigned laboratory personnel equipment and procedures.This position is critical to the success of St. Josephs Hospital Medical Center and requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health.Our laboratory is working on the translational research of cerebrovascular diseases including brain aneurysms and stroke. We use pre-clinical models cell culture molecular approaches. We are looking for a research technician who will work with lab personnel on various projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in life science bioengineering or related fields. The candidate should have basic knowledge in biology biochemistry microbiology and genetics.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:Two (2) years prior experience in a research clinical or other scientific environment required.Bachelor’s degree required. Familiar with laboratory techniques.Working knowledge of the scientific method. Familiar with basic computer skills required.Preferred:Four (4) years of prior experience in a research clinical or other scientific environment preferred.MS Degree preferred.Demonstrates an ability to continually improve performance preferred.Familiar with laboratory techniques and basic computer skills preferred
