The work of centre focusses on the construction of difference in conditions of unequal power relations, and how these constructions are co-constituted, reproduced, resisted, and reframed, using the framework of Critical Diversity Literacy. It now seeks to appoint a scholar to take up a two-year contract position of Researcher at the centre. The candidate must have research ability as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations or research reports that utilize a Critical Diversity Literacy approach.
Brief DescriptionApplications are welcomed from scholars with a track record of critical research in dimensions of difference such as gender, sexuality, race, representation, cultural studies, (dis)ability, age etc, especially where these adopt intersectional and decolonial theoretical frameworks.
RequirementsThe successful candidate will demonstrate at least some of the following: A commitment to issues of difference, diversity and social justice A PhD in a relevant social science discipline Interdisciplinarity in training and approach A research track record of local and international conferencing and publishing in peer reviewed journals Administrative and project management experience Postgraduate supervision and teaching record Ability to write fundraising proposals Interest in networking and collaborative efforts Interest in conference/event organisation Ability to speak on topical diversity issues to diverse audiences and to the media Ability to compile reports Ability to peer review and participate in academic citizenship
