JOB DESCRIPTION

TMZ is looking for a Researcher with strong research skills, and the ability provide input for story development for various TV productions. The role requires someone who can handle a significant amount of reading, deep research, and be able to work with Producers / talent during the pre-production stages of each episode. Applicants must also possess an eye for detail and an ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Significant reading/research on subjects of each episode
• Summarizing massive amounts of information into smaller, more-digestible info packets for Producers
• Searching through archives and curating photos/videos

• Research and book various guests

• Proficiency with internet and database research
• Other duties, as assigned

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or related field
• 5+ years’ experience working on an entertainment show or website

• Self-sufficient with long term solo research

• Experience searching court documents and public records, a plus

• Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated depth of historical knowledge regarding entertainment news events and topics
• Must be proficient with LexisNexis and Google search
• Familiar with programs Outlook, and Word Processing, along with basic MS Office software
• Knowledge of social media, and the ability to effectively use and monitor various platforms

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $70,000.00-76,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
