ResponsibilitiesBerkley Professional Liability is seeking a Reserving Actuary to be located in their NYC office.
The Reserving Actuary reports to the Chief Actuary and will focus on quarterly and year end reserving. This role will help grow and manage a profitable book of business within Berkley Professional Liability.
Key functions will include but not be limited to:
Under the Chief Actuary’s guidance, be responsible for quarterly and year end reserving ultimate and reserve files maintenanceMonitor reserve adequacyCollaborate with claims, finance, and underwriting to stay informed about business changes impacting reservesSupport external and internal audits and regulatory compliance related to reserve calculationsContinuously improve reserving methodologies and assumptionsAd hoc projects Qualifications BA/BS degree required ideally in mathematics or statistics. Masters degree preferred7+ years of Actuarial experienceD&O/E&O reserving experience a plusACAS or FCAS designationKnowledge of Microsoft products including SQL, Excel, VBA, and AccessAbility to efficiently extract, combine, validate and manipulate large quantities of multidimensional data. • Base Salary Range: $130,000 - $200,000
• Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus
