What role you will play in our team

 

The Reservoir Engineering Analyst will provide guidance and consulting on the effective use of reservoir simulation applications, promotes effective and efficient processes, and coordinate the delivery of technology to the Upstream engineering community.  They will be part of an Agile Team troubleshooting application errors, reservoir model errors/failures, providing training, and generation of new workflows/tools to assist BUs in meeting their goals.  They will work closely with Upstream engineers, commonly acting as a liaison between the business and the broader EMIT IT function.

What you will do

 

Provide day to day operations support for reservoir simulation applications by performing troubleshooting and technical analysis to identify root causes and develop problem resolutions.

Investigate and coordinate the resolution of application issues (e.g., troubleshooting application/model errors, user access requirements, purchasing/restoring licenses).

Partner with global Upstream customers to understand modeling needs and either provide resolution or connect them to those that can.

Provide consultation that assists end-users in using simulation applications or to overcome technical challenges while using them (e.g., Field Management, History Matching, user edits)

Provide engineering expertise and business workflow knowledge to IT projects such as version upgrades and application integration projects

Partner with SLB (vendor) to identify bugs/enhancements and assist with problem resolution.

Frame business problems, identify alternatives, and collaborate on solutions with other analysts, architects, and stakeholders.

Participate in engineering networks/communities of practice/integration teams (SLB Office Hours, Res Sim User meeting, asset team meetings, etc) to influence engineering best practices and technical computing system capabilities.

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a recognized university in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, Reservoir /other relevant engineering disciplines with minimum GPA 7.0

Knowledge of reservoir engineering concepts including – reservoir simulation software, history matching

Good fundamental understanding / experiences in fluid mechanics

Minimum 5 years of experience working in the upstream oil & gas sector with reservoir simulation software, or at least familiarity with fluid mechanics

Experience with engineering applications for reservoir engineers using Petrel RE,CMG, Intersect or Eclipse software.
