Reservoir Engineering Technician, A&D

Join us as a Reservoir Engineering Technician at Barclays where you’ll play a crucial role, and you’ll have the chance to provide engineering analysis in support of the execution of A&D transactions for Barclays clients. You will work with engineers and geologists to research oil and gas basins and emerging plays in North America and globally.

To be successful in this role you need 3+ years working as an Engineering Technician in support of reservoir engineers within the Oil and Gas sector. High working proficiency in the reserves database programs Aries and PhDWin, doubled by the ability to bring data into Aries and PhDWin which are QC’ed for use by engineers and financial bankers are necessary qualifications as well.

Additional relevant experience in Oil and Gas A&D, or within the investment banking sector, the ability to analyze, consolidate and tie LOS and LOE data across sources and strong skills in using and building templates in Spotfire are welcomed.

This role is based in Houston.

Purpose of the role

To help clients with technical evaluation for acquisitions, divestitures and financial solutions to meet their business objectives.

Accountabilities

Analysis of technical (petroleum / reservoir engineering) data to provide inputs for financial model used to market client's asset, or help with investment opportunities.Provision of engineering support for transactions, including drafting presentation materials, and preparing data room documents.Collaboration with other team members in generating A&D / M&A ideas for clients.Building / leveraging of network of industry contacts to stay informed about the technical aspects of the business, and leverage that knowledge for related pitch work and assignments.To help clients with technical evaluation for acquisitions, divestitures and financial solutions to meet their business objectives.
