As a member of the leadership team, the role of the Residence Manager should advocate for supports and encourage growth among individuals in order for everyone to reach their full physical, emotional, and intellectual. They should guide the DSP to encourage professional growth and to ensure policy alignment.  The Residence Manager will develop and maintain positive relationships with all individuals in the program as well as the individuals’ families, guardians and/or correspondents.  The Residence Manager will oversee all aspects of the operations for the residence that they supervise.

Responsibilities

Residence Manager will maintain positive communications. He/she will be an effective communicator who will be able to provide person-directed supports and constructive feedback regarding overall program expectations. 

 

Speak and treat all people in a respectful mannerCreate and encourage an open communication systemDevelop clear and concise written and verbal communications including but not limited to CDR (Corrective Discipline Reports), professional emails, supervisions, family contacts and etc.Meet respective deadlinesFoster appropriate communications and respond in a timely mannerConduct, attend and participate in regular supervisory sessions to share information about people supported and programsWork with the clinical team, family members, day programs, community members and establishments to ensure that the programs and services we provide to people supported are person-directed and meaningful.Respond to all communication in a timely manner to ensure compliance with deadlinesBe aware of overall program spending including DSP salaries and overtimePrepare completely all Req logic submittalsResponsible for all aspects of the program operating budgetComplete, monitor and review all documentation in accordance with Foundling, Federal and State policies and proceduresOversee the completion of all documentation by DSPs and other related staff, e.g., Residential Habilitation Specialist, Nursing, Facilities, Behavior Intervention Specialist, DietaryEnsure documentation is completed within the expected timelineDisplay proficiency in Evolv utilizing all reports to accurately manage all service documentationComplete and ensure accuracy of all required documentations e.g. Audit Book, incident reports and investigations, people supported case records, behavior logs, service entries, MARs, fire drill forms, emergency preparedness drills and safety checklistConduct monthly DSP meetings for training and informational purposes; conduct formal supervision sessions and professional development with all DSPs at least monthly; informally when neededEnsure staff training compliance per OPWDD regulations and NYF policiesEncourage and provide opportunities for DSPs to attend trainingseach individual’s medical background and current issuesCoordinate each individual’s medical needs and advocate in the best interest of the individual in medical situations and work with the RN when overseeing and coordinating medical care for all people supported. He/she will train DSPs on the appropriate ways to handle and address medical situationsImplement, train and require DSPs use of EVOLV and other electronic health recordSupervise and train DSPs in person centered planning

 

 

Salary Range: $65,702.64 - $69,502.64

Qualifications

All Residence Managers must have a bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, management, or other related field is preferred.

Valid NY/NJ/CT/PA Driver’s License with 6 points or less required.Three (3) years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and familiarity with OPWDD regulationsOne (1) years of supervisory experienceComputer literacy, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).Certification or willingness to obtain certification as an instructor in positive behavior approaches, strategies and/or supports and physical intervention techniques training in accordance with the OPWDD and other approved curricula applicable to the needs of the individualsCertification or willingness to obtain and maintain Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Education Required Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution Options ApplyApplySubmit a ReferralRefer Sorry the Share function is not working properly at this moment.
