Residency Coordinator RN
**Job Summary** The Nurse Residency Program Coordinator directs the daily operation of the residency program ensuring smooth flow of planning, preparation, and execution of program activities related to maintaining accreditation, recruitment, resident education, wellness and compliance with institutional and regulatory matters. The Nurse Residency Program Coordinator is responsible for the operational and management of the accredited nurse residency training program. The position requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of national accreditation policies and hospital policies, as well as a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. The Nurse Residency Program Coordinator will continually assess and direct a wide range of programmatic issues including long range planning, recruiting trainees, developing projects, analyzing workflow, maintaining databases, communicating with faculty and trainees regarding a range of issues, and managing internal and external program relations. **Essential Functions** + Oversees the day-to-day administrative management of the residency program, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and institutional policies. + Collaborates with Clinical Leaders and faculty to develop, implement, and monitor educational and clinical competencies for all new graduate nurses + Serves as the primary liaison between residents, faculty, institutional leadership, and external accrediting bodies (e.g., ANCC-PTAP). + Utilizes and maintains residency management software to track resident schedules, evaluations and scholarly activities. + Coordinates and organizes program-related events such as graduation ceremonies, leadership meetings and wellness activities + Assists in the preparation and management of the program’s resources. + Ensures accurate and timely submission of program reports, accreditation documentation, and other required materials to governing and accrediting bodies. + Develops and implements policies, procedures, and training materials to support program compliance and resident success. + Acts as a resource and mentor for residents, fostering professional development and addressing individual needs and concerns. + Monitors program performance metrics and collaborates with Clinical Leaders to implement quality improvement initiatives. + Coordinates program accreditation site visits and prepares necessary documentation. + Performs other duties as assigned. + Complies with all policies and standards. **Qualifications** + Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (RN) required. + Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing, Education, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred + 2 years of professional nursing / clinical experience, preferably in an acute care setting + 3 - 5 years of professional nursing / clinical experience; experience in nursing education and/or professional development preferred + Experience with an ANCC-PTAP accredited program or healthcare education programs preferred + Experience in developing, implementing, and managing educational programs, including residency or onboarding programs for clinical staff preferred **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards (e.g., ANCC, Joint Commission, state regulations). + Proficiency in standard office tools (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace). + Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. + Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to diverse audiences and maintain professional correspondence. + Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including residents, faculty, and organizational leadership. + Knowledge of program budgeting and expense tracking. + Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on achieving results. **Licenses and Certifications** + Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required + BLS and ACLS required Equal Employment Opportunity This organization does not discriminate in any way to deprive any person of employment opportunities or otherwise adversely affect the status of any employee because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, genetic information, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, citizenship, veteran status, or military or uniformed services, in accordance with all applicable governmental laws and regulations.
