Minimum Eligibility RequirementsBA in Healthcare related field - preferredQualified Assessor - preferredKnowledge and experience processing in Scheduling databases.Working Knowledge of computers, including Excel, Word, and MS OfficeKnowledge of nursing specialties, opportunities, and qualificationsMust possess sensitivity in understanding employees’ needs while maintaining a sense of balance to ensure that staffing/scheduling requirements are met for the facility.Ability to represent the facility in a positive and professional manner.Must be able to work effectively in an individual or team setting.Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) with or without reasonable accommodation. Essential Functions:Deals appropriately with a family member and visitor concerns or complaints, documenting the issues and actions taken through the appropriate reporting mechanismManages minor physical plant issues that arise during assigned shifts, reporting as necessary to Maintenance Director and AdministratorLocks outside doors (p.m. shift); unlocks outside doors (a.m. shift)Makes Caregiver shift assignments and ensures that assigned duties are completed in a satisfactory mannerMonitors the performance of caregivers for compliance with established policies and procedures, and to ensure quality resident careReports Caregiver performance issues to HSD or Administrator and provides input for Caregiver performance evaluationsManages shift coverage when staff members call in sick for the oncoming shiftParticipates in Caregiver orientation and trainingResponsible for scheduling and other staffing duties, as requestedConducts building tours when requestedCommunicate with family members, physicians, and other outside healthcare providers, such as hospice, wound care, PT, OT, Pharmacy, etc.Exercises independent discretion in responding to resident emergencies, determining the need for and contacting emergency services, and/or physician and family, as appropriateDocuments observations, concerns, changes in resident conditions, incidents, and/or accidents, and ensures that follow-up documentation occurs until the issue is resolvedReports observations, concerns, and changes in resident condition to Health Services Director (HSD) or AdministratorCommunicates resident needs and concerns to family members and physiciansRecords and implements physician orders, following appropriate procedures for fax and telephone ordersEnsures that information and interventions recorded on resident service plans are implemented by CaregiversReceives reports from caregivers before the end of the shiftGives report to oncoming Charge Nurse or Lead CaregiverReceives report from outgoing Charge Nurse or Lead CaregiverWill take the lead on first aid response, safety, and disaster situations while on dutyParticipates in the narcotic countSets up, dispenses, and documents all resident medicationsResponsible for maintaining an orderly medication cart, medication room, and accurate medication administration recordsMonitors the daily care of all residents Staffing/ SchedulingEstablishes staffing patterns and schedules for nurses and nursing assistants.Works with human resources to advise them of staffing needs, terminations, and other information necessary for the smooth flow of work regarding employees.Participates in in-service training.Assists in securing staff for absences, leaves, etc., adjusting schedules as required.Maintains records on vacations, sick leave, leaves of absence, holidays, and excused and unexcused absences, and recommends appropriate action.Assists in administering the uniform policy for the facility.Works with the health services supervisor to schedule training classes.
