HDR is looking for a Resident Construction EIT/Designer to partner with our Construction Management team on the delivery of a major treatment plant construction project in metro Atlanta. In this role, we'll count on you to:
Assist the Construction Manager with all facets of project executionObserve field activities for general conformance to the contract documentsProactively partner with the General Contractor and Construction Management team to coordinate field issuesReview submittals for conformance with technical specificationsRespond to Requests for Information to clarify design intent for the General ContractorDocument construction progressParticipate in required construction meetings and support the documentation for discussions in those meetingsActively participate in the start-up and troubleshooting of new facilitiesDevelop relationships with client personnel to further HDR’s objectives of maintaining outstanding client serviceCoordinate with design team members in HDR offices to obtain input to support on-going construction activitiesPerform other construction management and engineering duties as requiredThis role is a field-based assignment with a strong connection back to our local Atlanta, GA office. You will report to the Construction Manager, who will also be full-time at the active construction site with the overall project construction management team.
Preferred Qualifications
2 years of construction experience in the water/wastewater field Previous experience or internships in the field is highly desiredEIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of Resident Construction Designer and will be expected to obtain their EIT certification for career progression.Knowledge of CAD software programs, scheduling software, and project management software (Newforma)Strong people skills, ability to interact with the design teamPreference given to local candidatesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field Knowledge of MS Office, Primavera, Scheduling Software, spreadsheets and databases Interest and/or experience in the construction field Excellent oral and written communication skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We Believe
