Job Summary
The Resident District Manager is an experienced, strategic leader with proven management experience. You will participate on a team and provide overall planning, direction, evaluation and control to assigned operations in order to achieve business and financial goals. This role will manage a large multi-unit corporate dining account. You will serve as our point of contact for the client as well as lead the team within the account and manage the overall operation. You will provide planning and direction within your account to achieve operational and financial goals in a dynamic environment. You will also maintain strong client relationships and work to fulfill our mission to feed the campus community.
POSITION OBJECTIVES:

Manages a large account within a region to ensure guest and client satisfaction
Establishes and maintains effective customer/client and internal rapport
Ensures compliance with government and agency standards
Ensures profitability of the account

Major Duties
MAJOR DUTIES/FUNCTIONS/TASKS:
Customer Relations
Maintains and supports client satisfaction at a level that ensures account retention.
Administers require client/customer surveys (and other feedback instruments) and responds in a timely and effective manner.
Ensures that all employees demonstrate an aggressive hospitality (respect) orientation toward customers and clients.
Promotes client awareness of program alternatives and the availability of corporate resources.
Monitors and ensures compliance with the provisions of client contracts and KPI’s.
Assist in customizing programs to meet each locations unique needs as required.
Monitors client communications effectiveness.
People Management
Responsible for productivity and staffing that is appropriate to the account.
Participate in the human resource planning process to support implementation of human resource strategies and tactics including proper staffing levels.
Responsible for determining and maintaining staffing baseline levels.
Responsible for selection of management personnel, as required.
Encourages employee creativity and innovation.
Provides recognition for employee when programs are implemented with success.
Responsible for compliance with all human resource policies and procedures by all employees within the account.
In conjunction with human resources the RDM develops the training plan for management employees and ensures its successful implementation.
Responsible for preparation and implementation of specific development and training specific plans for district and key minority/high potential management personnel.
Provides opportunities for advancement and other developmental experiences for successful managers and maintains a succession plan.
Coaches and counsels managers as needed; provides continuous feedback on performance and applies appropriate developmental tools to assist in their individual growth.
Development and Retention: Maintain a positive employee relations environment with a strong focus on employee development and retention strategies.
Maintains weekly ops meetings with Core team and weekly 1:1 with respective Core team members.
Safety Culture and Team Safety: Promote a robust safety culture and create an environment where team members are empowered to promptly report safety concerns, near-misses, and incidents.
Operations
Maintains an awareness of the competition and market conditions internal and external to the accounts and districts.
Evaluate and justify supplies, equipment and purchases as needed.
Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise functions and activities of the department
Establish work standards and work flow.
Establish and implement policies and procedures for departmental operations.
Demonstrates and promotes corporate culture, values and management philosophy.
Demonstrates a proactive and enthusiastic attitude in striving for and meeting all business goals and objective.
Recognizes the importance of effective leadership in meeting and targets set forth in the region's performance plan.
Recognizes the need for and demonstrates good communication and listening skills with clients, customers and employees.
Promotes teamwork within the region.
Represents the corporation professionally and ethically.
Interfaces proactively with all support departments to obtain best results for all concerned.

Efficiency Enhancement & Innovation
Process Improvement: Develop and implement plans and processes to improve operational efficiencies, streamline workflows, and enhance the overall efficiency of the operation.
Customer Satisfaction: Work towards enhancing hospitality and client satisfaction scores by fostering a culture of exceptional service and client engagement.
Industry Trends: Proactively identify and stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in the foodservice industry.
Technology Adoption: Research and evaluate innovative technologies that can be applied to improve operations and enhance the customer experience.
Achieve Budget/Financial Responsibilities
Financial Performance: Optimize financial performance through budget management, cost control, and revenue generation strategies.
Develops financial forecasts and balances programs and resources for account.
Responsible for attainment of financial goals for the account.
Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of financial data and statistics.
Reviews and analyzes financial statements, weekly operating reports and other financial results.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and minimum of five (5) years of management experience, preferably in food service preferably in a similar high education institute.
Is well-versed in all aspects of foodservice management with a proven track record of success.
Expertise in high-end catering preferred.
Has proven track record of leading a business and a team, strong customer service, and good business and financial acumen
Demonstrates strong initiative, critical thinking, ownership, communications (listening, written, and verbal), multi-tasking, prioritization, and organization skills
Champions the inclusion mindset, and is proactive, positive, professional, and resilient
Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and POS software
