Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Construction Engineer for its New York, NY office. AECOM has been performing underground storage tank replacements for the City of New York since 1992. This active project is entering the construction phase and requires additional personnel. We expect this project to continue for several years and expect additional contracts to be awarded in the future. We are looking for a candidate to fill the specific current need but must have growth potential. We anticipate future needs at higher levels, with upward mobility for successful employees.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provides field inspection for construction work performed, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.Documents project progress, including daily reports, site photographs, and detailed records of construction activities.Manages contractor shop drawings, coordinating reviews and approvals with the design team.Provides RFI assistance, facilitating communication between contractors and the design team to resolve technical issues.Verifies schedule, labor, and material quantities, ensuring project milestones are met and resources are efficiently utilized.Reviews contractor payment requisitions and change orders, assessing their validity and impact on project budget and timeline.Conducts quality control inspections of underground storage tank installations and related systems.Coordinates with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding underground storage tanks.Participates in project meetings, providing updates on construction progress and addressing any concerns or challenges.Monitors and reports on environmental impact and safety measures related to underground storage tank replacements.Assists in developing and implementing site-specific safety plans and procedures.Collaborates with the project team to identify and mitigate potential risks and issues during construction.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationPreferred Requirements:
NYS Professional Engineer LicenseExperience in inspection of installation of piping systems in trenches.Eperience working on NYCDEP projectsStrong analytical, computer, and written and oral communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and project scheduling softwareStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and adhere to deadlinesAdditional InformationSponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.Relocation is not available for this positionAbout AECOM
