HDR is looking for a Resident Inspector to partner with our Construction Management team on the delivery of a major treatment plant construction project in metro Atlanta. In the role of Resident Inspector we'll count on you to:

Assist the Construction Manager with all facets of project executionObserve field activities for general conformance to the contract documentsProactively partner with the General Contractor and Construction Management team to coordinate field issuesDemonstrate familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods and processes for buildings and facilitiesConduct inspection of electrical, structural, mechanical/HVAC, IC, and site civil construction activitiesCollaborate with other field representativesRead and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documentsConduct and document observations of construction as it progressesReview submittals for conformance with technical specificationsParticipate in required construction meetings Actively participate in the start-up and troubleshooting of new facilitiesDevelop relationships with client personnel to further HDR’s objectives of maintaining outstanding client serviceCoordinate with design team members in HDR offices to obtain input to support on-going construction activitiesPerform other construction management as required

The role is a field-based assignment with a strong connection back to our local Atlanta office. You will report to the Construction Manager who will also be full-time at the active construction site with the overall project construction management team.

Preferred Qualifications

2 years of construction experience in the water/wastewater field Knowledge of CAD software programs, scheduling software, and project management software (Newforma) Technical school or college degreeRelevant Industry CertificationsAbility to interpret construction schedules

Required QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent A minimum of 3 years experience Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
