Resident Service Coordinator

General Description: The Cesar Chavez Foundation is a non-profit organization that serves low-income families in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas through affordable housing and social service programs. Working in the Community Services department, under the direction of the Regional Program Coordinator, the Resident Service Coordinator implements and supervises the After School Program, Senior Services, Resident Services and related activities to ensure their success and impact. This entry-level, full-time position works with elementary ages and senior (55+) residents, with time equally divided between both populations. This role requires strong decision-making, leadership, and skills in community planning and outreach. A passion for working with children and the ability to serve as a positive role model are essential, as you will inspire young minds and help guide their development. You will actively engage with residents of all ages, providing essential support and resources while building relationships that foster a connected and thriving community. Key duties include resident outreach, program supervision, and collaboration with Property Management to develop partnerships and enhance resident services. As a vital link between residents and resources, you will help create a welcoming environment where children and families can grow and succeed. RESPONSIBILITIES: + Uphold Ethical Standards: Maintain all ethical practices of the Cesar Chavez Foundation by serving the community with character, integrity, dignity, and professionalism. + Program Management: Oversee and Provide the Si Se Puede Community Center’s Programs, including the Afterschool Program, Senior Services, Resident Social Services and ensuring compliance with site requirements. + Program Administration: Prepare lesson plans, prepare materials, document participation, manage petty cash and conduct daily program overviews. + Behavior and Safety: Enforce programs’ behavior policies and safety procedures, including reporting child, adult and elder abuse and neglect according to state law. + Communication: Create and distribute monthly newsletters, calendars, and flyers for events and resources. Outreach to partnerships and residents of the community also required. + Engagement: Foster a friendly and welcoming environment for members and visitors. + Record Keeping: Maintain accurate record keeping and document retention systems, and compile comprehensive reports. + Confidentiality: Protect the confidentiality of sensitive information at all times. + Collaboration: Maintain effective working relationships with employees, participants, and community partners, actively contributing to resident stability. Partners like Toys for Tots who help bring a joyful Christmas to the children in the Community. + Contribution: Coordinate and distribute donations amongst the elderly, such as food, in-kind, holiday and everyday essentials. REQUIREMENTS: + Education: At least 12 units of college credit from a two-year accredited college or related experience in Early Childcare, Youth Development, or Community Services. (ROP certificate or similar accepted). + Language Skills: Preferably bilingual (Spanish). + Technical Skills: Knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel), Adobe, and Canva is highly recommended. + Work Environment: Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. + Background Check: Must pass Live Scan fingerprinting/background check. + Health Requirements: Provide proof of a negative TB test result taken within the last year. + Availability: Available Monday – Friday, 8 hours a day (9:30 AM- 6:30 PM). + Location: Position requires on-site work at two separate Community Centers. + Certification: Must be First Aid/CPR/AED certified (or obtain within 30 days) and maintain these certifications. + Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects as needed for transportation, setup, and conducting activities. Frequently required to stand and walk and occasionally required to stoop, kneel and/or move up to 35 pounds. + Bonus: Previous experience working with the senior population, though not required.
