The Residential Shelter operates 24 hours/365 days. RESIDENTIAL ADVOCATE: Ensure the safety and security of the Shelter and its residents, assist with daily activities and ensure cleanliness. Monitor issues, deescalate as needed. Maintain proper documentation and reporting procedures. Available Positions: Friday/Saturday - 4:30p - 12:30a Sunday/Monday - 4:30p - 12:30a (or Sat 8:30a-4:40pm Sun 4:30p-12:30a) Per Diem opportunities available for on call shifts based on your availability. Responsibilities include: + Conduct a minimum of three walk-about security checks during each 8-hour shift, including client rooms, living room, basement, and outside grounds; maintain an awareness at all times of who is in the building + Lead fire drills and emergency evacuations + Provide emergency coverage as needed + Ensure client locks medications in appropriate safe, document medications in medical folder + Oversee the completion of chores by clients and ensure that clients are following house guidelines + Assist clients, when necessary, with wake-ups for school, etc. Transport clients as necessary Hot Line Management + Answer crisis hotline calls; process proper paperwork for all calls received; enter information into the database QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or equivalent, and experience in any of the following areas: social work, women's studies, psychology, or counseling, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
