JOB SUMMARY
The Residential Manager will:
+ Maintain the health, well-being, and development of all the residents living within the home.
+ Provide ongoing staff supervision and development of staff working within the home.
+ Ensure the overall maintenance, upkeep, and cleanliness of the home and that it meets LARC standards.
+ Maintain the home's compliance with state, and federal regulations, and LARC policy.
+ Be responsible for the finances and assets of the home.
+ Be responsible for the health, well-being, and development of individuals served by LARC as part of a multidisciplinary team.
+ Develop staff schedules and secure staff coverage for all shifts as needed.
+ Provides direct care as needed to ensure staff-to-resident ratios are maintained and compliant.
+ Assumes on-call responsibility as directed.
+ May be responsible for working nights and weekends; hours/shifts influenced by house needs.
+ Will work at least one direct care shift per week other than 1st shift.
+ Develops short and long-range programs for each resident in conjunction with the resident's team recommendations.
+ Prepare all monthly goal dates, six-month reviews, individual plans (IPs), and quarterlies as required.
+ Participates in the development and review of Level of Needs (LONS) at least annually or as needed.
+ Coordinates scheduling of all meetings with Dept. Of Developmental Disabilities (DDS) Case managers and guardians.
+ Maintains good relationships with resident(s) guardians/families.
+ Works with all clinical staff to meet the needs of residents. Including but not limited to OT, PT speech, nursing, and behavioral specialists.
+ Ensures proper documentation, reports, guidelines, and programs are always in place.
+ Works directly with the Behavioral Specialist in the development of resident support plan, communication of data, and psychiatry input. Must present at DDS PRC reviews.
+ Directs work for assigned Direct Support Professional (DSP) staff.
+ Ensures DSP staff are appropriately implementing programs, health and safety guidelines, and behavioral support plans.
+ Ensures all DSP staff are trained according to state regulations and LARC training standards and that required trainings are maintained.
+ Maintain required levels of supervision, support, and responsibility as detailed in the IP and during entire schedule including meals, activities, work, downtime, etc.
+ Demonstrate the ability to apply conflict resolution skills.
+ Ability to operate a multi-passenger vehicle in a safe and reliable way, adhering to all laws and regulations.
+ Conduct vehicle safety checks and report any issues to proper authority. Keep mileage records.
+ Schedules, and attends if needed, medical appointments and other related appointments.
+ Coordinates, plans, and ensures the appropriate community activities are provided to all residents.
+ Serves as a positive role model to all LARC staff.
QUALIFICIATIONS
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Works with the Director of Residential Supports with interviewing and hiring employees. Directly supervises, assigns, and directs work, appraises performances, rewards, and disciplines employees, addresses complaints, and resolves problems with consultation of the Director of Residential Supports.
Education/Professional Requirements:
+ Two years college education from an accredited college in Human Services, or related field of study, or equivalent experience. HS Diploma or GED with substantial work experience may be considered in lieu of college education.
+ Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the I/DD field, preferably in a licensed DDS Residential setting
+ Minimum of 3 years’ Supervisory experience
+ Obtain and/or maintain CPR/ PMT/ First Aid certification and DDS medication administration certification
+ Valid Connecticut Driver’s License, ability to obtain a Public Service License

+ Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint); Outlook; other general office equipment. Ability to work with and understand databases a must.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee will be engaged in speaking, sitting, walking, driving, listening, and in communicating both orally and in writing while performing his or her duties.
The employee will use hands to operate a computer terminal, open and close file drawers, make telephone calls, etc.
The employee must be able to listen and respond to questions and instructions.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
Be able to run, squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, lift at last 50 pounds or ¼ of own body weight, push/pull against potential resistance, be able to implement non-physical and physical interventions, and CPR with people supported when needed.
