As a Residential Support Specialist, you'll work in a supportive and fast-paced environment where no two days are ever the same. You'll play a crucial role in helping clients develop essential life skills, build positive relationships, and navigate their journey towards recovery.
***Key Responsibilities***
Provide compassionate support and supervision to adult clients in a residential setting, fostering a safe and welcoming environment.Encourage and guide clients in developing healthy relationships with peers and staff, promoting a sense of community and belonging.Assist clients in maintaining a clean and organized living space, ensuring their surroundings contribute to their well-being.Monitor client progress and update documents accordingly, tracking their growth and successes.Facilitate engaging groups and activities that focus on building everyday skills, such as meal prep, personal hygiene, and stress management.Be the 'staff advisor' for assigned clients, advocating on their behalf and ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive.Build strong connections with community partners, enabling clients to successfully integrate into society and achieve long-term independence.***Requirements***
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field (psychology, sociology, etc.) preferred.Must be 21 years of age *Must have a high school diploma or GED/HiSet.Must have a favorable driving record and valid driver’s license.*If driving a Burrell vehicle, the minimum age requirement is 23.Compassion, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping others succeed.Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from various disciplines.Ability to communicate positively and maintain rapport with clients, families, and external stakeholders.Familiarity with treatment planning and documentation processes, or willingness to learn.Adaptability, patience, and resilience when working with individuals facing mental health challenges.***Why join us****
