Position Overview: As a Community Corrections Supervisor, you will take on a key leadership role within the Iowa Department of Corrections. You will lead and oversee a team of community corrections residential services staff, where the primary focus is on professional casework, critical services, resources, and interventions. In this role, you'll play a central part in implementing Department policies and ensuring the delivery of comprehensive correctional services to work release. Hours: 2 p.m. - 10 p.m. Monday-Friday, with some weekend work possible. Your role: • Direct Supervision and Leadership: Lead, guide, and supervise Residential Officers, ensuring the highest standards of care and security for our residents. • Mentorship and Growth: Foster staff development through regular communication, feedback, coaching, and the implementation of evidence-based case management and supervision strategies. • Scheduling, Training, and Quality Assurance: Manage staff scheduling, time-off requests, and training, ensuring a well-prepared team. Conduct performance evaluations with a focus on continuous quality improvement and monitor staff performance. Review casework and correctional reports to ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness. • Program Oversight and Team Leadership: Contribute to the success of programs such as the Day Reporting Program and Drug Court Program. Assign and delegate work to staff, ensuring compliance and quality. • Financial Stewardship: Assist in reviewing and approving resident budget checks or loans, acting as an authorized signer for facility accounts, and serving as a depositor for facility funds. • Community Resources and Client Interaction: Maintain community resources tied to or located at the facility, enhancing the support network for residents. Ensure regular contact with clients as required by their level of supervision and individual case needs. • Ethical and Legal Compliance: Contribute to the ethical and legal integrity of our work by assisting with PREA investigations, serving as a Retaliation Officer, and managing discipline, grievances, and appeals. • Talent Acquisition: Participate in the interviewing and selection process of new employees, actively engaging in recruitment and retention efforts, including job fairs and community colleges.
