Resilient SRQ Communications Specialist (Time-Limited)

We have an opening for a time-limited Resilient SRQ Communications Specialist to help support the Sarasota County’s Division of Program Management. This role includes primarily the Resilient SRQ program and, on an as-needed basis, the ARPA State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds program and other future housing programs. Examples of job responsibilities include short-range communications, media relations assignments, strategic and long-range communication planning, target marketing, and community outreach for the Resilient SRQ program (and others). The pay starts between $25.70 - $27.00 (based on experience) , benefits begin within 60 days of hire, and there are opportunities for advancement. Apply today! Special Note: This position is a time-limited role. In this time-limited role, your position may be maintained until May 31, 2031 . You will receive benefits and retirement and can work up to 40 hours per week but will lack retention rights to your position. About the Position + Strategize and implement communications plans, techniques, methods, and campaigns. + Write and edit multiple types of products to support Resilient SRQ and other programs administered by the Division of Program Management. Examples include: communications/community engagement plans; internal messaging, guides, banners, brochures, FAQs, fact sheets, flyers, invitations/evites, media releases, postcards, posters, print ads, talking points, television promo scripts and website content. + Develop and present information to internal and external groups. + Serve as a community outreach specialist for the program, coordinating speaking engagements and community events. + Develop and maintain communications plans, schedules, monitors, tracks, and reports on projects. About the Schedule Work Hours: + Full-Time, 40 hours per week. + Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (no weekends!) About You Minimum Qualifications: + An A ssociate degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following: Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Relations and/or Mass Communications. + -OR- Significant related experience in Communications or related field. Preferred Qualifications: + Bilingual (Spanish). Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
