Resort Maintenance Technician

 

 

OVERVIEW

Resort Maintenance Technicians perform routine and preventative maintenance to maintain the physical integrity of Suns resorts. They conduct building maintenance repairs and are responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of property grounds, facilities, streets, equipment & various utility systems. Maintenance Technicians provide excellent customer service to prospective & current guests and residents at all times, and may assist with site setups to ensure timely arrivals and departures of resort guests and residents.

JOB DUTIESEmpty trash, shovel, perform maintenance or repair duties, use power equipment, drills or other hand toolsCompletes minor repairs to rental units and facilities as neededCompletes routine maintenance and minor emergency repairs, plumbing, sewage, construction & street repairInspects irrigation system regularly to ensure it is working properly, repairs as necessaryInspects playground area and equipment, pool/spa area, and other recreational amenities to ensure everything is in good condition, making minor repairs as neededEnsures the resort is presentable and inviting at all times and that it adheres to Sun's curb appeal standardsRegularly treats for weeds, weed whips, rakes leaves, plants flowers/shrubs, spreads mulch/woodchips/stones, trims shrubs and hedges, cuts down and removes tree limbs damaged by adverse weather conditions, and performs other lawn care services as necessaryEnsures trash/debris is picked up daily from common areas and streets on a daily basis. Empties common area trash containers as neededCleans resort amenities which may include clubhouses, tennis courts, pickle ball courts, resort offices, restrooms, laundry areas, bath houses, and maintenance garageMaintains vacant sites, including strap-downs & removal of trash and debrisRemoves snow from community streets, parking lots, building entrances and other areas Sun is responsible for maintaining, where applicable. May include using a truck with a plow, spreading salt, snow blowing, and/or shovelingInspects tied down RVs, park models, and mobile homes for cleanliness, rust, damage, and other problems prior to permitting their saleCompletes checklists of physical condition of resort sites prior to and after guest occupancy.Assists Resort Manager with supervision of service contractorsReports all maintenance issues and concerns that may be identified while performing daily duties to managerEnsures all resort streets and public access routes are free of hazardsMaintains resort pool(s), tests chemical levels, and adjusts appropriately, where applicableMaintains resort vehicles and equipmentFollows safety procedures while performing duties, including safely operating vehicles when moving from site to site & picking up suppliesOther duties and special projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or GED (Required)6 months previous maintenance experience in a campground or RV resortDemonstrated knowledge of and broad experience in general maintenance techniques and repair workAbility to endure seasonal temperatures as working conditions require constant outdoor workGeneral knowledge of janitorial work, plumbing, and grounds maintenanceProficient skills in operating various hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machineryAbility to provide legible written reportsAbility to work well independently as well as on a teamMust be able to lift at least 50 poundsBasic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and internetAvailability to respond to resort needs during non-business hours while on-call
