Respiratory Care Practitioner – Respiratory Therapy

The Respiratory Therapist is expected to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contemporary Respiratory Therapy principles. The Respiratory Therapist should be a solid performer who is fully competent in all aspects of his/her job description.  The Respiratory Therapist possesses all of the core skills of the Associate level Respiratory Therapist.  He/she is expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.  He/She will collaborate with Physicians and Nurses in planning and implementing the patient plan of care. Completion of the department orientation program as well as unit-specific orientation, as required, is mandatory.

Required Qualifications: 

Associate's Degree - AMA accredited school of Respiratory Therapy. Or Bachelor's Degree - AMA accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.    Montana Respiratory Care Practitioner License upon hire. National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire. National Provider ACLS - American Heart Association within 90 days of hire. National Provider PALS - American Heart Association within 90 days of hire. 2 years as Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC) or 10 or more years as Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC)
