Position Summary
The Respiratory Care Practitioner possesses sufficient training and experience to perform independent professional respiratory care diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, clinical evaluations of care including the establishment of therapeutic objectives and the review of care. Supports the mission, philosophy and objectives of Hunterdon Medical Center.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Facilitates and coordinates duties relating to respiratory care.
2. Documentation and charging of patient care
3. Maintains Professional Development
4. Maintains Patient Safety
5. Patient Advocate
6. Perform Pulmonary Function Testing if applicable.
7. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
Graduate from a respiratory therapy program
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
(1) year of Acute Care Experience
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
New Jersey License in Respiratory and CPR certification. ACLS certification required; if not ACLS certified upon hire, must obtain within two years (Full or Part Time Only)
Preferred:
PALS Certification for Full and Part Time staff
ACLS and PALS Certification Per Diem employees
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Required:
The ability to function independently, computer skills. Use hospital approved equipment including but not limited to bipap/cpap; ventilators; end tidal CO2; high flow oxygen therapy and all other components of respiratory care.
