The Registered Respiratory Therapist III is a clinical professional who utilizes the department's scope of services to access, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care as an integral member of the healthcare team.
The Registered Respiratory Therapist delivers Respiratory Care Services under the order of the physician and in accordance with protocols established by the hospital, other health care providers, or the board and functions in situations of unsupervised patient contact requiring individual judgment. Functions as the Resident Expert proficient in all clinical respiratory procedures. Serves as a resource. Preferred Certification includes NPR (Neonatal), required within 6 months if applicable. Required specific skills also includes Advanced respiratory assessment and evaluation; Proficient Critical Thinking Skills; Perform diagnostic testing; Skills as identified on the Pay for Skills grid; Relief and Charge skills; Emergency Care/Adult Critical Care as applicable; Neonatal/Pediatric critical care skills as applicable; and Neonatal/Pediatric Cardiac skills as applicable.
Certifications and Licensures Required:
RRT (Respiratory Therapy) Active NBRC Credential for RRT BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Cardiovascular) within 6 months PALS (Pediatric) - PreferredEducation Required:
Technical Respiratory Therapy Associate's Respiratory Therapy - PreferredExperience Required:
