SUMMARYThe RCP shall be responsible for the assessment planning and administration of all respiratory care offered by the Respiratory Care Department They shall provide these services to all ages to include neonate infant pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric in accordance with the Policy and Procedures They shall function clinically with a considerable amount of independent judgment regarding the delivery of quality patient care reassessment of patient care needs education of patient and family as established by department policy and procedures and with medical guidanceWork whereevery of an Advanced Level Respiratory Therapist Educational Program or two year Respiratory college Experience Newly graduated with no previous experience but with clinical hours in a hospital settingLicensure Certification Registration RRT registered by NBRC Current CT state licensure as Respiratory Care PractitionerCurrent Basic Life Support BLS Certification ACLS within months of hireCurrent PALS or STABLE Certification and NRP certification preferredKnowledge Skills and Ability Requirements Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions and effectively communicate information Basic computer skills including openingreading email basic internet use Demonstrated knowledge to perform pulmonary function testing Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments employees physicians and managers Ability to read and understand oral and written material and effectively communicate technical or complex information Demonstrates critical thinking and advanced decision making skills Must be organized flexible and a team player Good time management skills Ability to work in a stressful environment Ability to handle multiple
