Respiratory Therapists in this unit can expect to work with patients of all ages and acuities; providing diagnostic and preventative care, management of chronic diseases and conditions, cardiovascular, general, trauma and neuromedical critical care, emergency department services, and in-house emergency response.
Respiratory Care Practitioners also work in supportive roles in complex procedures such as bronchoscopy, bedside tracheostomies, administration of specialty gasses, and medical procedures requiring airway support.
This area also offers advancement opportunities through a clinical ladder and cross-training opportunities in Sleep Technology, Neurodiagnostics and Cardiac Services.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Respiratory Clinician 2 is under the immediate supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Team Specialist. The Respiratory Care Clinician 2 is responsible to administer routine Respiratory Care and life support services to hospital guests. They are also to have the role of phlebotomist throughout the house. They are responsible for cardiopulmonary services. They are also responsible to attend high risk deliveries.Licensure:
Current Indiana Respiratory Care Practitioner license and NBRC certification as RRT or CRT credentialed prior to July 1, 2002.BCLS required within 30 days of hire.Phlebotomy within 60 days of hire.ACLS required within 90 days of hire.NRP required within 90 days of hire.PALS required within 1 year.STABLE prefered, but not requiredExperience:
One to two years of progressively more responsible experience performing respiratory care procedures.Education:
