Position Summary
The Respiratory Assistant will provide logistical support to the Respiratory department by par stocking, cleaning and setting up equipment, and maintaining medical gas cylinders/manifolds throughout the hospital and Dickstein Cancer Center.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following: Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. Performs par stocking of respiratory equipment and supplies on nursing units and Respiratory department. Cleans and processes respiratory equipment. Inventories, transports, and replenishes medical gas cylinders throughout the main hospital and Dickstein Cancer Center Performs all other related duties as assigned Education & Experience Requirements
Must be a high school graduate.

Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment Must have the ability to move and transport heavy medical gas cylinders May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc. Primary Population Served
