The Respiratory Therapy Director plays a central role in our facilities by utilize their skills and experience to make difference in patients’ lives every day. Assist with orienting and educating of new Respiratory Therapists on the respiratory department. Oversees the daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy Department to include staff interviews, employment decision, orientation, performance evaluations, employee training and development Responsible for advising and counseling patients/families Reviews, investigates and responds to patient complaints. Assists staff to utilize Respiratory care when coordinating the plan of patient care in assigned areas. Assesses patients, their needs and ability to tolerate treatment and make a reassessment based on their response to treatment Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure it functions safely and efficiently; operate equipment safely and correctlyQualifications
Must possess a current and active MD license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist Must have at least two (2) year of experience in a hospital, nursing care facility of other related health care facility At least 3 years of management experience is preferred Must be knowledgeable of respiratory practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulation and guidelines that pertain to respiratory in nursing care facilities BLS and ACLS certifications is required
