Living by these virtues, we pride ourselves on exceptional service and the highest quality of care. **GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:** + Provides general respiratory therapy procedures to patients as directed by physicians and protocols. + Procedures include, but are not limited to, Non-Invasive positive pressure ventilation management (NPPV), delivery of medicated aerosols, bronchial hygiene therapy, lung expansion therapy, and basic CPR. + Demonstrates the ability to recognize change in the patient’s condition, make independent judgments, and modify the care as necessary according to departmental standards and approved physician protocols. + Cleans, packages, inventories and maintains all respiratory care equipment. + Checks, delivers, and replenishes respiratory supplies as needed. Orders department forms and supplies weekly. + Serves as a floor care therapist or equipment technician. **SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:** + Graduate of or actively enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Program required. + Successful completion of the first clinical year preferred. + Holds either a provisional license to practice, as a Respiratory Therapist, per the Idaho State Board of Medicine or enrolled as a full-time student in a American Medical Association acknowledged Respiratory Therapy program. + Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** + Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. + Demonstrates ability to correctly clean and assemble respiratory equipment and perform the other job functions of the equipment technician, (e.g., patient billing, floor stocking, supply inventory and ordering). + Revenue management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients. + Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric as applicable). + Performs and monitors clinical effectiveness of general floor therapy modalities only (not critical care qualified). + Demonstrates knowledge and application of non-invasive ventilation (NPPV or BiPAP). **About Saint Alphonsus:** **Colleagues of Saint Alphonsus Health System enjoy c** **ompetitive compensation with a full benefits package and opportunity for growth throughout SAHS and Trinity Health!
