Restaurant General Manager

Expectations of a General Manager:

Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store. Ability to work varied hours/days including holidays to supervise store operations. Ability to work extra days or hours when circumstances require. Flexibility to rotate to other locations. Ability to balance labor to spreadsheets and explain variances daily. Ability to be part of creating a safe, fun, efficient, positive team orientated environment.

 

Essential Responsibilities of General Manager:

Shapes the culture of the restaurant and works towards a high level of team member engagement and guest satisfaction. Achieve all budgeted financial goals, including income, sales, costs, P&L management, etc. Interview, hire, train, and develop management team and team members in all aspects of the business. Maintain team member performance appraisal, discipline and termination. Supervise Carry Out Manager in all areas and have ultimate responsibility in these areas. Work with team members in creating a positive guest experience and assist with guest needs as they arise per Malnati Organization. Develop plans to continuously improve guest satisfaction score. Implement and supervise responsible and ethical cash management for the location including checking out, balancing, and making the daily cash income deposit. Coordinate special events, large parties, banquets, drop-off catering and carry out orders. Implements store promotions. Maintain sanitation and cleanliness guidelines for the location per the Malnati Organization. Responsible for inventory maintenance, purchasing, and receiving per the Malnati Organization. Monitor and maintain the high quality of service and food per the Malnati Organization. Supervise the repair and maintenance of the store. Report and address safety concerns. Provide timely feedback to supervisor regarding service failures or guest needs. Ensure the location is prepared and set up in all areas including but not limited to tables, kitchen, food, bar, prep work, cleanliness, and staffing. Responsible for leading and attending required weekly, monthly and ad-hoc meetings. May delegate responsibilities with approval from their District Manager. Any other responsibilities as may be assigned.

 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Ability to freely access all areas of the restaurant/carry out store including but not limited to dining room, kitchen, bar, office, phone area, delivery area and stock area. Ability to stand, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, climb and move about the facility; ability to stand approximately 90% of workday; manual dexterity. Ability to lift, move or handle goods throughout the location generally weighing 0-80 pounds. Education and/or Training:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; bachelor’s degree a plus. Three to five years restaurant experience strongly preferred but not mandatory. Required to read and write English, follow and assign verbal and written instructions and use math. Must have thorough knowledge of Company products, services, policies, and procedures. Training in all aspects of the restaurant including but not limited to waiting tables; prep work; steam and pizza. Have a general knowledge of labor laws, health codes, safe food handling and sanitation, safety and security systems and procedures, and computer operations.
