In advance of opening Brutto Americano, a new Italian-inspired restaurant from Brian Burns and Reno De Ranieri of Osteria Lupo and Costera, The Barnett Hotel, located in the Warehouse District, is hiring thoughtful team-players to join our team. While Brutto Americano is slated to open in early January 2025, position start dates will range the month of December.
SUMMARY
We are seeking a host to join the team and assist with managing reservations; greeting and seating guests; along with managing phone communications. This position does require the ability to stand for the duration of the shift 6-8 hours.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma required, any college courses in hospitality management or similar is preferred. Minimum 1 year previous experience working as a server in a similar-sized restaurant. Additional restaurant experience (host, food runner, bus person, etc.) preferred. Additional certifications (ServSafe, TiPS, etc.) preferred.
LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL, and REASONING ABILITIESCandidate must meet the following cognitive abilities:Ability to understand guests’ service needs & requests.Ability to acknowledge guests’ requests in a polite manner.Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written English (additional foreign languages are encouraged and preferred).Ability to apply logical thinking and understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.Ability to address and solve problems involving guest and operational issues.
