Restaurant - Key Holder/Shift Lead
Job Summary: The Key Holder/Shift Lead is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the restaurant during their shift, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, effective team coordination, and operational efficiency. This position involves taking on leadership responsibilities while maintaining the flow of service, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and assisting with training new staff. As a key holder, this role also includes securing the restaurant at the beginning and end of each shift. Key Responsibilities: + Leadership & Supervision: + Lead and motivate the team to deliver exceptional customer service. + Oversee the flow of operations, ensuring all staff members are adhering to restaurant procedures and safety guidelines. + Provide guidance, support, and feedback to team members during each shift. + Shift Management: + Open and close the restaurant, ensuring all necessary procedures are followed (e.g., unlocking/locking doors, turning on/off equipment, setting up/closing down the restaurant). + Manage shift schedules and ensure appropriate staffing levels based on customer traffic. + Ensure food quality, cleanliness, and adherence to safety standards throughout the shift. + Customer Service: + Interact with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve complaints or concerns. + Address customer inquiries and ensure a positive dining experience for all guests. + Lead by example in maintaining high service standards. + Operations: + Order fulfillment, and inventory management as needed. + Handle cash management, including registering sales and ensuring secure transactions. + Monitor stock levels and communicate inventory needs to management. + Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards. + Team Support & Training: + Assist in training new staff members, ensuring they are knowledgeable in restaurant procedures and standards. + Monitor performance, offering coaching and feedback to improve team performance. + Administrative Duties: + Maintain daily logs, including shift reports and any relevant updates for management. + Ensure that all company policies, including those related to cash handling and safety, are adhered to. Assisting the General Manager: + Support the General Manager with administrative tasks, such as preparing reports, tracking sales, and monitoring team performance. + Act as a point of contact between the management team and front-line staff, ensuring smooth communication and operations. + Assist in the implementation of marketing promotions, events, or changes to operational procedures as directed by the General Manager. + Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and training new team members when needed. Qualifications: + Proven experience in a customer service or restaurant setting (3-4 years preferred). + Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining organized and efficient. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. + Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations. + Ability to handle cash, process transactions, and manage a register. + Ability to open and close the restaurant independently. + Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
