Position Summary:

The Restaurant Shift Manager assists the Food and Beverage Operations Manager in the day to day operations of the outlet.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:

Works with the Food and Beverage Operations Manager to achieve the established P&L guidelinesAssists in the hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining and scheduling of supervisors and line staffResponsible for the requisition and inspection of all products and the maintenance of inventory par amountsAssists in the preparation of payroll

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains the health, safety and sanitation of the restaurant in accordance to set guidelinesPromotes culinary concept in Marketing and Public Relations effortsMaintains a working relationship with tenant partner and assumes an active role in marketing the restaurant concept

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

Bachelors’ Degree in Hospitality or Business AdministrationThree years experience in a high volume complex Food and Beverage or casino environment with at least one year supervisory experience in a gourmet-specialty restaurantIn lieu of formal degree, must have two years supervisory experience in a high volume or gourmet themed restaurant

Competencies:  Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:

               

Intermediate knowledge in Micros, Stratton Warren, Word, Excel and Lotus NotesExcellent written and oral communication skills

Training Requirements:

Must complete and pass the Core Supervisor Training courseExcellent understanding of all beverage service techniques, food preparation and products and cooking techniques, including table side serviceThorough understanding of P&L evaluation, sales forecasting, budget costs, utilization and Key Volume Indicator analysis

               

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and liftingMust be able to lift up to fifty poundsMust be able to work various shifts and flexible hoursMust be able to sit in front of a computer screen for short periods of timeFast paced kitchen environment
