Help Wanted: Retail Associate – Art & Technology Showroom

Location: Bantam Tools Store, 107 S. Division St., Peekskill, NY

Job Type: Part-time

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage, $17-20/hr based on experience

About Us: Bantam Tools is opening a unique showroom and art gallery that blends robotics, digital art, and handmade craft. Our store showcases our Art Machines, like the Bantam Tools NextDraw and Bantam Tools ArtFrame, alongside artwork created using these machines. We also feature a rotating selection of work from digital and plotter artists, plus curated home goods and ceramics.

Position Overview: We are looking for a friendly, outgoing Retail Associate who is passionate about digital art, creative technology, and engaging with customers. You’ll be responsible for opening and closing the store, demonstrating our art machines, explaining the artwork on display, and ensuring customers have a great experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Open and close the store, ensuring everything is secure and presentable.

Greet customers warmly and provide knowledgeable assistance.

Demonstrate and explain Bantam Tools’ Art Machines (NextDraw, ArtFrame, etc.).

Share the stories behind the artists and artworks on display.

Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.

Keep the showroom clean, organized, and well-stocked.

Assist in setting up new exhibitions and updating displays.

Handle customer inquiries and communicate feedback to the team.

Support occasional events, workshops, and artist talks in the space.

Qualifications & Skills:

Passion for digital art, creative technology, and/or robotics.

Retail, customer service, or gallery experience preferred but not required.

Strong communication and storytelling skills.

Friendly, approachable, and comfortable engaging with customers.

Willingness to learn and explain technical concepts in an accessible way.

Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Reliable and punctual.

Basic familiarity with digital fabrication and plotter art is a plus!

Schedule & Benefits:
