Retail Buying/Merchandising Internship

Responsibilities Supports the merchant team through various tasks, including product selection, product arrangement, and market research. They assist with analyzing sales data, preparing reports, and coordinating with vendors and suppliers. The role provides hands-on experience in the retail industry, helping interns understand the merchandising process and develop skills in product assortment, pricing, and promotion strategies. Work directly with Merchandising Supervisor/Buyer Mentor to execute analysis of item productivity by using all available resources including sales reports and Microsoft software programs. Work directly with Merchandising Supervisor/Buyer Mentor in coordinating efforts with divisional partners regarding building and documenting plan-o-grams, merchandising standards, store execution and customer experience. Shadow merchants on store visits to see the results of the merchant team’s work in a live environment. Shadow the functions of a Retail Buyer- including sitting in vendor meetings, helping with selection of merchandise, learning about forecasting with the relationship of Demand Planning Analyst, learning about Retail Advertising, etc…… Complete project assigned at the beginning of the internship. (SWOT analysis, time study, line review, etc….) Demonstrate awareness and compliance with Loss Prevention and safety policies and/or procedures. Qualifications Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program, preferably in Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
