Job Title: Retail Clerk Department: Gift Shop Reports To: Gift Shop Supervisor/Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Starting Rate: $15.02 per hour Status: Part Time Closing Date: Thursday October 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm SUMMARY: Obtains or receives merchandise, totals bill, accepts payment, and makes change for customers in retail store by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: + Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with our guests and fellow associates. + Stocks shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise. + Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales. + Stamps, marks, or tags price on merchandise. + Obtains merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer. + Answers customer's questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise. + Totals price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill. + Accepts payment and makes change. + Wraps or bags merchandise for customers. + Cleans shelves, counters, or tables. + Removes and records amount of cash in register at end of shift. + Calculates sales discount to determine price. + Keeps record of sales, prepares inventory of stock, and orders merchandise. + Other duties as assigned gift shop supervisor. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand. The associate is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. The position exists in a casino work environment where there is regular and frequent exposure of the associate to noise and cigarette smoke from the casino floor. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Must obtain and maintain a St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming work permit which requires a background check to be used solely for employment purposes. Successful candidates for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed. In case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino or Mohawk Bingo Palace.
