Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in International Paper Sheet Incentive Plan which has significant commission earning potential.

The Job You Will Perform:

Grow sales of point-of-purchase displays, graphics packaging and related turn-key services to include creative design services, digital as well as traditional printing services, and fulfillment.  Provides technical and high-level project management in support of building our relationship with customer and consumer packaged goods companies to achieve planned sales objectives and satisfy customer needs.  Working in cooperation with International Paper’s sales, design, national accounts, customer service, project management, manufacturing, and fulfillment departments. Responsible for building, maintaining and growing volume that maximizes value for the customer within assigned or existing accounts. Builds and maintains key relationships, effectively communicates, and executes Key Account Plans and IP’s Value Propositions and attends to daily customer demands; maximizes profitability of customer base.  Responsible for both a consultative and a transactional mix of accounts in a fast-paced culture that requires frequent interaction with sales, project management, scheduling, quality, design, marketing, and logistics to resolve customer problems while maintaining account profitability and production efficiency. 

 

 

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

Minimum five years or equivalent experience managing national, regional, or local users of display sales, value-added corrugated packaging and specialty printing/graphics solutions.  Must possess a proven track record of successful sales growth (volume and margin) and maintenance of existing business. Extensive work experience in the corrugated specialty packaging industry in project management, customer service, or operations also highly desirable.  BS or BA in business, marketing, or related field strongly preferred. Knowledge of graphic packaging trends, consumer trends, off-shelf merchandising, and the corrugated industry, including container designs (characteristics and specifications), enhanced graphics, pricing and costing practices, quality processes, and printing. Professional sales and technical skills to support “value-added” retail packaging products and services.  Strong knowledge and application of International Paper’s capabilities and resources. Demonstrated knowledge of general business principles, internal financial management, and industry business practices. Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of functional areas (sales, marketing, design, logistics, etc.) within the customer’s organization, primarily directed at the selling of their products to the specialty graphics marketplace. Must be comfortable working independently on a day-to-day basis, but equally adept at working closely with internal stakeholders to develop customer proposals, direct the customer order process, and ensure successful execution of orders. Exemplary interpersonal skills; operate with a high level of trust and integrity; ability to gain credibility with customers quickly; problem solves and communicates proactively, both internally with the organization and externally to the customer. Action-oriented:  deliver solutions on a quick-time basis, provide a “speed to market” advantage relative to our competition; make decisions quickly with superior follow through skills.  Provide a high level of customer service to retain and grow successful sales.  Remain flexible and adapt to the situation and provide either leadership or follow instructions and work independently. Negotiate with customers and overcome objections; ability to handle pressure, stress, and rejection. Willingness and ability to work overtime or irregular hours; occasional overnight travel required. Ability to handle details accurately and in a timely manner. Excellent time management, organizational, presentation, and communication skills.
