Purpose at Ashley 

The Warehouse Supervisor assists the Warehouse Superintendent directing the daily activities of the warehouse, including labor &scheduling, supervision and proper utilization of space, equipment and manpower. Maintains accountability for the safe, efficient and Lean Operation of the facility and equipment.   

What You will Do

· Supervises and monitors activities engaged in receiving, stocking, picking, assembling, conditioning, inventory of products and delivery. Works with the system to improve inventory processes with respect to productivity and quality (picking, put-away, receiving, MTOs, customer pick up, etc.) to ensure a lean, efficient execution in all the processes.

· Complies and enforces day-to-day warehouse standards.

· Assists in teaching and improving processes and standard operational procedures (SOP’s).

· Ensures team members are working at a rapid pace to meet the pieces per hour goals without sacrificing safety and accuracy/quality.

· Implements warehouse safety and security programs and activities.

· Evaluates and monitors housekeeping, security and sanitation levels daily.

· Reviews 6s evaluation scores and review in operational meetings to ensure sustainability of these processes. Ensures safety in all areas of the warehouse by ensuring neat and secure, and that damages to product, equipment, and the facility is prevented.

· Ensures dress code and professionalism is maintained at its highest levels at all times.

· Works closely with warehouse managers in reviewing the receiving volume to proactively anticipate inventory levels.

· Ensures proper Slotting of products

· Supervises the overall flow of product through the warehouse is taken as per Standard Operational Procedures

· Ensure proper product handling to avoid product damage and loss.

· Develops receiving work schedule

· Schedules and monitor pick up, delivery and receipt of all products.

· Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices or orders to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipments.

· Reviews/Audits accuracy of F7, incoming and Outgoing reports.

· Interviews, select and train inventory personnel.

· Conducts daily meetings to deploy strategies for improvement.

· Coaches, mentors and motivates staff daily

· Conducts employee performance evaluations on a quarterly basis.

· Reports and inspects physical conditions of warehouse(s), equipment, maintenance, repair, or replacement as necessary.

· Inventory integrity – Receiving, picking, put away.

· Ensures standard operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, or salvaging products are being met.

· Audits and physically inspect product locations after receiving or picking product to/from inventory, looking for any errors or quality problems.

· Responsible for customer pick up

· Supervises the warehouse tasks of locating, picking, and inspecting products for customers, assists in loading products into vehicle

· Ensure proper conduct and presentation while working with customers. Assesses employees are utilizing proper customer service approaches and techniques to ensure customers’ needs, complaints and issues are successfully resolved within the HomeStore Warehouse guidelines and standards.

· Educates and mentors staff in best practices of receiving, storing and picking product from inventory. Conducts morning meetings to review measurements, daily expectations, communicate up and coming schedules, review successes, and share suggestions and new best practices.

· Conducts on the job training with staff

· Responsible for continuous improvement

· Defines quality/performance measures as well as targeted levels •Develops strategies for achieving targeted measures

· Utilizes the concepts of Lean, Theory of Constraints, and Statistical Process Control for improvement in warehouse functions.

· Works with area departmental managers to identify areas of HomeStore system improvement.

 

What You Will Bring 

· Legally Authorized to work in the US.

· Age 18 years or older.

· Regularly lift objects over 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.

· Ability to transport loads of 40 bs. with or without reasonable accommodation.

What We Are Looking For

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· 1 year working in a warehouse environment required.

· 1-6 months of inventory control preferred but I would like to challenge this to 1-10 months.

· 6 months of supervisory experience Work independently as well as in a team environment.

· Good Standing Driver’s license

· Effective time management and organizational skills

· Work independently as well as in a team environment.

· Analytical and critical thinking skills

· Maintains confidentiality.

· Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement

· Manage multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints.

· Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and internet.

· Perform under strong demands in a fast-paced environment.

· Displays empathy, understanding and patience with employees and external customers.

· Respond professionally in situations with difficult employee/vendor/customer issues or inquiries.

· General familiarity with safe warehouse functions

· Ability to use some PIV machinery.

· Knowledge of proper methods for lifting/stacking and leverage
