What you will be doing 

The Data-Driven Insights analyst will leverage advanced data techniques, including Explainable AI & Generative AI, to derive actionable insights, develop hypotheses, and support decision-making. The ideal candidate will have experience in regression, unstructured data analysis, deep learning, prompt engineering, and Generative AI, with hands-on experience using tools such as R, Python, Google Vertex, BigQuery, and LLM platforms. 

The position will be based in Pleasanton, CA  

 

Main responsibilities 

Data Analysis & Research: Analyze complex datasets to uncover insights in trade allowance management and associate turnover, utilizing both statistical modeling and Generative AI techniques.  Generative AI & Hypothesis Development: Leverage Explainable AI & Generative AI models and incorporate statistical modeling into LLMs to generate hypotheses and support business decisions in merchandising and associate retention.  Support Retail Optimization: Provide data-driven insights to help optimize trade allowance strategies and improve associate turnover outcomes.  Collaborate on Data Product Development: Contribute to the development of data products using advanced AI and data science techniques that improve decision-making processes across retail operations.  Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with merchandising, HR, and other teams to provide data-driven recommendations that enhance trade allowance management and associate retention.  Present Findings: Effectively communicate insights through data visualization, making complex data accessible to non-technical stakeholders.

The salary range is $121,000 to $157,000 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. 
 

What we are searching for  

Recently graduated at a master's level from a top-tier university in a program focused on Data Science, AI, Statistics, or a related field.  Must not require visa sponsorship.  Experience with statistical modeling, regression, unstructured data analysis, deep learning, and Generative AI.  Proficiency in R, Python, Google Vertex, Google Big Query, and some experience with LLM platforms (e.g., OpenAI, Llama etc.).  Strong data visualization skills using tools like Power BI or Tableau to present complex data clearly and effectively.  Completed projects or assignments demonstrating experience with AI techniques, including Generative AI and prompt engineering. 

Preferred Skills: 

Familiarity with retail and HR-related data, particularly in trade allowance management or associate turnover.  Exposure to machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Py Torch) and experience deploying models for business applications.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen interest in applying AI techniques to solve practical business challenges.  Excellent communication skills for presenting complex findings to non-technical audiences.
