Allied Universal® is hiring a Retail K9 Security Officer. The K9 Officer is accountable for the delivery of K9 Services for assigned sites. This role is responsible and accountable for assigned deployments and established patrols, and the care, custody, and control of a company-owned canine, to include but not limited to, proper housing and transportation standards. The K9 Officer must maintain K9 Team training standards (as established by Allied Universal), training coordination/administration, tracking K9 team financials, and vehicle maintenance records.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deploy and patrol with K9 at assigned work sitesConduct routine and prescribed searches utilizing the K9Maintain K9 Team training standardsAdministrative duties, such as but not limited to, cost tracking, accident/incident reports, daily activity logs, training logs, and vehicle maintenance logsMaintain an expansive and contemporary knowledge in K9 tacticsAct as a liaison with clients, senior corporate staff, and Allied Universal® field managementDevelop and deliver K9 demonstrations to new clients and the general publicNational travel, as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

High school diploma or equivalentMust possess a valid driver’s license with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months)Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employmentMaintain K9 team certifications as required by Allied UniversalPost hire, must successfully complete 9 weeks of training to include:National K9 certificationsOperational K9 TrainingDefense tacticsFirearms trainingFirst Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)OC SprayASP BatonDriver’s trainingMinimum of three (3) years of security experienceDemonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlinesHighly organized and able to keep management on track with required information available at all timesProficient and fully functional in all Microsoft Office applications and able to effectively utilize all available office management technology including Personal Digital Assistants, Nextel phones/pagers, mail merges, Access databases, Outlook, and Internet applicationsArticulate and able to use independent judgment and discretionOutstanding oral and written interpersonal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

Prior experience in dual purpose (patrol/detection) K9 handlingOne or more of the following:Service in any military branch (including Guard and Reserve)Law enforcement role, with a completed accredited Law Enforcement Academy (Municipal/State/Federal)Municipal or federal correctional officer, including attending a full-time accredited LE/Corrections AcademyArmed Security – (private or contracted)
