Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley National Park - Journey Beyond the Ordinary. Stovepipe Wells has an 80-room hotel, restaurant, bar, pool, gas station, general store, and gift shop.  Stovepipe is a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort providing accommodations and services inside Death Valley National Park. Over the next few years, the resort will undergo upgrades to rejuvenate accommodations and dining for public enjoyment.  POWDR operates Stovepipe Wells under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Executes upon POWDR inventory activities, ensures, and upholds pricing from marginal demands.Train and develop staff to ensure excellent customer service and efficiency.Upholds and communicates ESQ (environmental, safety and quality standards) and accountability to ensure effective and efficient teamwork.Creative, captivating displays for inventory flow, feng shui techniques a bonus.Learns and follows structure for company marketing programs, sales, and branding.Manages POS functionality by ensuring accurate product set up, item tree display, discounting options, and operator security.This role is responsible for the purchasing and receipts of convenience type item procurement into the general store, such as food, drinks. Most of the Retail procurement is done at the corporate level. The manager will work with the POWDR Director of Retail to communicate any needs or adjustments for procurement of retail soft goods and accessories, to ensure store fulfilment is successful.  Engages with the POWDR corporate team members on implementing the best retail practices and participates in training. Orchestrates the implementation of ESQ targets, objectives, and systems of monitoring and measuring set forth in company strategic and ESQ plans, NPS Merchandise Plan, etc.Documents employee issues and works with HR to manage based on policy and procedure.Promotes overall enjoyable staff experience by implementing positivity and fun in daily operations.Matches and reconciles invoicing, orders, and helps to complete monthly retail inventory activities.Overseas regular inventory tasks are completed, such as monthly cycle counts and an annual physical inventory, to correctly manage products sold. Also Ensures regular stocking of the sales floor.Supports payroll, and expense strategies to meet set budgets.Maintains displays for inventory flow.Leads the staff with implementation of requires ESQ targets, objectives, and systems of monitoring and measuring set forth in company strategic and ESQ plans, NPS Merchandise Plan, etc.Communicates closely with the management team to articulate employee relations, skills, competencies, and helps the management with upholding standards for performance management, team development and training.Participate in leading department meetings and other activities to deliver and establish practices for accountability, coaching, rewarding and team.Drives continual improvement and leads the team to deliver upon NPS, ISO ESQ audit, compliance, programs, scorecards, goals, and training requirements.Conducts department Job Safety and Hazard Analysis with the team on a recurrent basis, documents it and engages the team in safety talks. Ensure team members participate and complete all required new hire training, recurrent training, emergency drills and certifications as per the ESQ Training Requirements Matrix.
