Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

This role accelerates business values by effectively lead and supervise the retail merchandisers in ensuring customers Ice Factory Systems and related components are performing a maximum productivity.

Leads, collaborates and demonstrates the lean principles and utilizes the lean methodologies and tools to facilitate continuous process improvements and value creation for our customers, employees and shareholders. Actively utilizes lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3, etc.) to inform and assess business opportunities to drive continuous improvement. Lead and participate in Kaizen and value stream mapping activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage and direct employees in their daily duties. This includes providing input for all hiring, termination, promotions and performance management for retail merchandisers and ensuring adequate employee coverage for specific customer schedules.

2. Effectively communicate with customers and other team members to determine the need for additional services and ensure retail merchandisers are meeting customer requests.

3. Train retail merchandisers to perform the necessary tasks to complete their routes each day.

4. Ensure customer demand is met, this includes developing specific schedules so each customer machine is serviced according to seasonally specific demand, maintaining an adequate stock of supplies, such as bags, at each plant locations and assisting the Department Manager in the coordination of necessary DSD. 5. Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, managers, and the general public at all times. This includes, operating company vehicle safely and in accordance with all applicable laws of the road, reporting to the assigned job site in uniform and ready to begin work at the designated start time and strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Policies, Programs & Procedures Manual.

6. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or mangers with other duties as required.

OPERATING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily management of Retail Merchandisers and Service Technicians within plant district.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Retail Merchandisers and Service Technicians within plant district. May serve as back up in the absences of the ISB Department Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3 yrs experience in ice business or related food production industry with supervisory experience required. Must have valid driver’s license & good driving record – will be required to use company vehicle at times. Sales Management preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Minimal Travel with potential for overnight. May perform work in retail stores; driving between retail stores and plant location. Must be able to lift 40lbs. Ability to climb ladder and work with light duty tools. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
