Function: Coordination of all validation and reporting of Retail Mortgage Loans that are HMDA reportable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Support the maintenance of an accurate and complete HMDA Loan Application Register by:
a. Review Retail Mortgage loan files to validate exported data for HMDA accuracy.
b. Determine the correct codes for all reportable fields for all cancelled and denied loan applications.
c. Review and update, as necessary all HMDA data within the loan origination system.
d. Prepare the Turn Down/Withdrawn Checklists and supporting documentation for the loans that are not originated.
2. Assist in the training and education of Retail Mortgage Department personnel, operations and Mortgage Bankers who complete mortgage applications and the HMDA checklists.
3. Identify incorrect HMDA data within the loan origination system, track errors by employee, and communicate to the responsible supervisor.
4. Keep current with Regulation C (HMDA) requirements.
5. Respond to requests from the Corporate Compliance Department regarding potential HMDA violations.
6. Maintain and enhance good working relationships with S&T employees, demonstrates the ability to work effectively independently; also works as a team player to the success of all department and the organization
7. Performs additional duties as required including any administrative assistance to support the functions of the Retail Mortgage Department.
Education:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; with specialized training preferred.
Experience:
Two to five years general business experience and one to two years specialized experience preferred.
Physical Demands:
Operates a keypad device: 50% of the day and operates office equipment 5% of the day. The primary parts of the body involved in performing these tasks are the fingers, thumb, hands, wrists, and elbows and upper torso. Standing is required one hour per day in a straight position. Sitting is required six hours per day in a straight position. Walking is required one hour per day at moderate in speed. Requires the use of manual dexterity skills for typing up to 40% of the business day. Specific vision requirements include close vision of 18”-20” for computer work.
