Job Description:

Baptist Health is looking for a Retail Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Baptist Health Louisville!

Essential Functions:

Performs all tasks associated with the filling and dispensing of community prescriptions, including computer order entry, updating patient information, filling and labeling prescriptions, and completing transactions at the point of sale.Delivery of medications to discharging patients per Pharmacist’s requests.Completes prescriber outreach for prescription refills under direct pharmacist supervision.Schedules and coordinates home delivery for prescriptions.Assists in inventory management processes, including order review, inventory returns, restocking shelves, and physical inventory preparation.Ability to prioritize workflow by patient impact and ensure that all assigned tasks are completed at the end of the shift. All identified problems, if they cannot be corrected by the employee, will be reported to the Pharmacist.Performs simple nonsterile compounding per current USP<795> guidelines and as permitted by state law under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.Assists in training new staff when assigned.Escalates all identified problems or patient complaints, if they cannot be corrected by the employee, to the Pharmacist to ensure timely resolution.Effectively resolves third party processing issues in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy (KY hospitals), within 30 days of hire date if you are a new registrant. If previously registered, you must have registration upon hire.Previous retail pharmacy work experience preferred.
