If you would like to join us on our mission, apply today! **Position Highlights** POSITION SUMMARY: The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist in preparing medications for dispensing, ordering of medications, performing billing functions for medications dispensed, miscellaneous stocking and QA functions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DETAILED DUTIES: Greet customers promptly and gather necessary patient and insurance information. Process prescription requests, review patient profiles, process refill requests, including translation of SIG codes, product selection, counting and measuring drugs, labeling of prescriptions, capping and uncapping vials and bottles, and assist pharmacist in any manner necessary to perform his/her duties and meet customer's expectations. Assist front store operations. Fill unit dose trays accurately. Performs billing duties including but not limited to updating computer pricing list each month, price updates, and billing patients in a timely manner. Follow proper cash handling policies and report any discrepancies to his/her supervisor. Research prior authorization, follow up on third party vendor billing problems, and assist in insurance audits. Communicate changes in stock utilization to maintain adequate patient supply. Performs a variety of duties for stock maintenance including but not limited to, placing medication orders, unpacking orders within 24 hours of receipt, check for and return outdates or damaged inventory to companies for credit whenever possible. Report discrepancies to his/her supervisor. Maintain all related compounding records, prescription logs, and any other related files as determined by the Pharmacist(s). Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including assisting with QA, assisting with cleaning of department, assisting with typing/designing forms, meeting prep and other tasks, as assigned. Assist in development of policies and procedures relevant to pharmacy technicians. Complete end of month reports and check daily temperature of pharmacy refrigerator and freezer. Keep accurate count of C III IV V/ checks in log sheets. Process immunizations and prepare necessary vaccines for pharmacist's administration. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed Pharmacy Technician – Certified. If not certified, must get certified within one year of start date. High School diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license with good driving record. Must have valid car insurance to meet requirements.
